T4 Ranch Embryo Transfer 2002-2003

At T4 Ranch we have carefully selected each coupling for our embryo transfer programs. Our goal has been to be able to breed a certain type of animal ... one without cull faults along with the stamina to survive in all types of conditions. Strength of character is very important as well as strength of breeding characteristics.

Careful planning helps lessen the breeding mistakes one can make with any breed of livestock.

These bucks are "Vlek" grandsons!

And embryo transfer is no different. It is the quickest way to strengthen the numbers of excellent stock. However, using stock of lesser quality can surely heighten the risk of failure in embryo transfer that could obviously bring market prices down and eventually lead to your representation in your industry being somewhat diminished.

Specially Selected Does

For the 2002-2003 season we have selected does from the Vlek and Madiba bloodlines to use in our embryo transfer programs.

We have found that some of the best crosses have been Vlek on the top and Madiba on the bottom and, of course, the Vlek on Vlek genetics have worked extremely well.

program and full sister to "Doocey,"

Summary

Keeping good records is essential to your registered Boer Goat flock. How else could you know what truly works in your breeding programs. Knowing your genetic pool and all of its abilities and possibilities is truly the key to successful breeding programs whether they be embryo transfer or natural couplings.
